• High School Seniors — Applications are available in your school’s guidance office.
• Higher Education Degree Seeking Students — Check with the financial aid office at your school or other office that manages scholarships for a list of available opportunities and directions for applying. Your school’s website may also maintain a list of available scholarship opportunities.

Award notifications are typically sent after the application deadline and review process. Most scholarship timelines are posted in the same location you applied for them (e.g., the high school guidance office or financial aid office.

After you’re awarded a scholarship, you must complete the Scholarship Recipient Form to confirm your award, provide required documents, and share your school details. Scholarships are typically mailed directly to your school and applied to your student account. Many schools apply funds a few weeks into the semester.

You must submit the Scholarship Recipient Form with all required supporting documents, including your school information and any requested transcripts, before funds will be released.

For renewing awards, we send renewal instructions in late April. You must complete the Scholarship Recipient Form and include an unofficial transcript from all courses taken the prior year. Your transcript must show your full name and your school’s name to be valid.

If you need to defer, contact us as soon as possible. Scholarships may be deferred for up to one year. Any unclaimed scholarships are cancelled at the end of the calendar year (December 31).

Scholarship awards are based on specific criteria (such as major or institution) that you met when selected. If you change schools, change majors, or withdraw, you may no longer meet those criteria and could become ineligible for future awards. Please notify Donor Services Director Megan Pierce right away if your situation changes.

Donors and selection committee members appreciate hearing from scholarship recipients. You are encouraged to send a thank-you note or update, including the name of your scholarship award, to LACF staff, and we’ll share it with the donors.
