The La Crosse Lighthouse is looking for:

  • Personal lived experience preferred. (mental health, substance use, trauma, other life-interrupting challenges).
  • Commitment to the mission and values of The La Crosse Lighthouse, Inc.
  • Diplomatic skills and a natural affinity for cultivating relationships and convening, facilitating, and building consensus among diverse individuals.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a passion for improving the lives of the consumers of The La Crosse Lighthouse, Inc.
  • Understand financial statements, nonprofit governance, and fundraising.
  • A commitment to and understanding of the needs of consumers of The La Crosse Lighthouse, Inc., preferably based on lived experience.
  • Strong communication, networking, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and make decisions in the best interest of The La Crosse Lighthouse, Inc.
  • Experience in relevant areas such as finance, law, fundraising, marketing, or human resources (preferred).

General board information and time commitments

Number of current board members: 7

Meeting location: Virtual

Regular meeting schedule: First Wednesday Monthly or Bi-Monthly

Time expectation (hours/month): 5-10 hours a month

Length of term (# of years): 3 years

Terms allowed (# of terms): 2 terms

Board member giving requirement: No

Committee service requirement: Yes
