The Green Goose Chase

The 2022 Green Goose Chase is a mission-based scavenger hunt where teams accrue points by texting in answers, submitting photos & videos, and heading to specific locations to obtain a GPS location tag all through an app on a smart phone or device. Each of the 40+ missions relate back to a Good Life Goal which are fashioned after the 17 UN Sustainable Development goals. By taking action towards these goals, players are helping to create a cleaner, safer, healthier more vibrant Driftless Region all while exploring local sustainability efforts and nature. This is completely free event with missions launching daily throughout the game week (April 18-24). This year will also include special mini-missions that will occur at the local Earth Fair on April 24th in Myrick Park. Last year we had 46 active teams with over 680 submissions!

What is neat about the game is that a team can have members across the US. We had a team in 2021 with family members from Orlando, San Francisco, New Hampshire, Madison and La Crosse. Because some of the missions don’t require you to be in La Crosse, those team members not located locally could complete “away” missions while local team members did “home” or local missions.
