Drug Addiction in our Community – a free community education event

We are pleased to announce the first in a series of free education events about important issues in the community.

We’ll start the morning off right by treating you to a coffee drink of your choice from The Good Bean, a recovery-informed café located inside Coulee Recovery Center. At 9:30, we’ll hear from La Crosse County Epidemiologist Rachel King. She’ll share the results of the 2022 La Crosse County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP). Then at 10:00, she’ll facilitate a panel discussion about substance use disorder. Panelists include:

• Dr. Chris Eberlein, MD – Emergency physician at Gundersen, medical director of Tri-State Ambulance, medical advisor for region 4 for the Wisconsin Health Care Coalition, and member of the leadership team for Alliance to HEAL
• Danielle Fortney – Community Resource Navigator at Coulee Recovery Center, certified Recovery Coach and Peer Specialist, recipient of NAMI Iris Award for dedication to mental health awareness, and wife and mother with lived experience with mental health and substance use and 6 years of long-term recovery.
• Rita Von Haden – Executive Director of Coulee Recovery Center and member of Alliance to HEAL leadership team
